Overview

We are currently hiring a Bookkeeper for a highly qualified, reputable CPA firm, located in Corpus Christi, TX. Our client offers a range of financial services for individuals, businesses, and non-profit and government organizations. Bookkeeper will oversee our clients’ financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying transactions
  • Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
  • Reconciling sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
  • Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts
  • Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions
  • Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts
  • Maintaining a balanced general ledger
  • Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting for information
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Monitoring for variances from the projected budget
  • Advising management on compliance needs
  • Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 2-3 years bookkeeping experience in public accounting Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in QuickBooks and/or other accounting software
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge (familiarity with formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables)
  • Experience in public accounting is required
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills
